In order to receive an insurance discount:
- - Pass our Joshuas Law Drivers Ed program.
- - Get our Certificate of Completion
- - Contact your Insurance Company
And essentially, that's it. Each insurance company is different however, so we highly encourage you to contact your insurance company just in case they have other requirements.
Qualify For A Tax Credit
You may also be eligible for a $150 tax credit. To qualify, you must:
- - Pass our DDS-approved Georgia Drivers Education (Joshua's Law) course.
- - Have a copy of the Certificate of Completion.
- - Have proof of the fees paid for the course.
The amount of the credit is equal to $150.00 or the actual amount paid, whichever is less.
What you Need to Do to Get Your Georgia Driver Permit
By signing up for our DDS-Approved Georgia Drivers Education (Joshuas Law) Course, you are required to complete our easy-to-pass program PLUS receive 40 hours of parent /guardian-supervised behind-the-wheel training (10 hours of which must be done at night.) For the behind-the-wheel training, the state of Georgia provides a Parent-Teen Driving Guide that details the skills a teenage driver needs to know. This guide will need to be notarized or signed in front of a DDS official in order to get your Georgia Drivers License. BUT before you can start the behind-the-wheel training - YOU MUST GET YOUR GEORGIA LEARNERS PERMIT!
Getting Your Georgia Learner's Permit
To get your Georgia Learners Permit:
- - Students must be at least 15 years of age and enrolled in a DDS approved Georgia Driver Education (Joshua's Law) Course.
- - A parent/legal guardian must be present and sign for the applicant.
- - The parent /legal guardian's Georgia Driver License or ID card will be required.
- - Any out of state permits, licenses, or ID cards must be surrendered. A certified Driving History, dated within the last 30 days, from the issuing state will also be required.
You will be tested!
- - You must pass a vision exam.
- - You must pass a two part knowledge exam pertaining to:

- - Road Rules
- - Road Signs
The knowledge exam is conducted on a walk in basis only at all Customer Service Centers. Testing must begin at least 30 minutes before office close time.
Once you Get Your Georgia Drivers Permit
- - The permit is valid for 24 months.
- - The permit holder is allowed to drive:

- - With a licensed driver at least 21 years old
- - The licensed driver must be seated in the front seat of the car at all times.
